We started Indian Club SA in 2021 during a tough period of time. Two major events occurred that gave us a difficult start for our family restaurant; the COVID pandemic and the major Magill road construction.
We not only survived from our humble beginnings but built the business into a multi award winning restaurant. We account this to our dedication, patience, determination, and faith.
We built a strong reputation for authentic Indian flavours, a warm welcoming service, and a dedication to quality and authenticity. This hard work earned us the prestigious title of Best Indian Restaurant in South Australia, Best Family Dining, and Best Casual Dining of the year awards.
We captured the hearts of food enthusiasts across South Australia with our passion of bringing the vibrant tastes of India to our local community. This passion of making every dinning experience memorable has led to our clients returning time and time again; something we are very proud of.
We are grateful to all our customers and communities for allowing us to continue our mission of bringing the high quality cuisine of Indian to our fellow South Aussies.


Grand Opening
Our founders Bishnu and Anu Kharel, a local Adelaide husband and wife team, opened Indian Club SA, a family-run restaurant. It was a challenging start because we opened during two disruptive events: the COVID pandemic and the major Magill road construction. Depsite all the challenges we survived due to our resilience and community support, we owe our gratitude to our diners.


Recognised Success
After many years of hard work we won the Best Indian Restaurant in South Australia as awarded by the Prestigious organisation, Restaurant and Catering Australia. In the same year we were also National Finalists for Best Restaurant in Australia. We were unbelievably proud and honoured by these achievements.


Multi-Award Winner
On the back of our success in 2024, we won several more awards from Restaurant and Catering Australia, including the 2025 Casual Dining of the Year for South Australia. We were also National Finalists for Casual Dining and Best Restaurant in Australia. We owe our success to our local Adelaide community, without our diners these achievements wouldn't have been possible.

Our Team

Bishnu Kharel
Head Chef and Owner
Bishnu is a loving husband and father with over 30 years in the hospitality industry. Bishnu began his journey training within the renowned Le Meridien Hotel in Delhi, India. When he migrated to Adelaide, many years ago, he worked in well known establishments, including Adelaide Oval, Adelaide Convention Centre, Adelaide Casino (Sean’s kitchen), and the Stamford Hotel. His passion for fresh, flavour packed, and consistently delicious food, forms the heart and soul of the Indian Club SA menu.

Anu Kharel
Floor Manager and Owner
Anu is the loving wife of Bishnu and a proud mother of 2. Anu manages the front of house and service operations of Indian Club SA. She is responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the floor, coordinating staff, and maintaining excellent customer service throughout each shift. Anu focuses on creating a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere, making sure every guest feels valued and well looked after from the moment they arrive, until the moment they leave. She handles guest interactions with professionalism and warmth, addressing any concerns promptly, and ensuring service runs seamlessly.

What are your trading hours?
We offer a lunch service from Monday to Friday between 11:30am-2:30pm. We also offer dinner service 7 days a week between 5:00pm-10:00pm. These hours are subject to change, please make a booking to ensure availability. Is the meat halal?
All the meat that we offer on our menu is halal and permissible for Muslims and other communities to consume. Do you charge surcharges on public holidays?
Yes, due to higher operating costs on a public holiday we apply a surcharge on those specific days. This ensures we can still offer our service during public holidays to our clients. Do you have private dinning room?
We have a private room in the restaurant dedicated to events and functions. If you contact us directly, we can help book in the room for your special event. Do you do functions?
Yes, we cater to weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, end of year award nights, and more. Reach out to book in your next function. Do you allow split bills?
Of course, we understand many patrons come with separate groups of friends and families so we are more than happy to allow split bills.
